Wellington Local History and Museum Society is a registered charity run by a small team of dedicated volunteers and funded by membership subscriptions, donations, events and the sale of books, leaflets and souvenirs.
Wellington Local History & Museum Society aims to promote knowlege about the history of this small Somerset town by organising talks and visits, running the Museum and publishing books on local topics.
In addition to its own events the Society hosts visits from schools and local community groups in the Museum and has a busy outreach programme presenting to local organisations.
This year marks 40 years since the museum first opened its doors.
Watch this space for news and information about how we'll be celebrating this important milestone!
Despite having restricted opening hours, we were delighted to welcome more than 1,750 visitors to the museum in 2022.
Thanks to everyone who visited.
