Late Summer Urban Ramble

A guided tour around Rockwell Green

At the first Society event since the Covid lockdown ended, Museum Curator Colin Spackman led a late summer ramble around Rockwell Green. The ramble took in the two water towers – a brick one built in 1885 to avoid a repeat of enteric fever epidemic of 1871/2 and an adjacent concrete tower built in 1935.  The brick tower has a weather vane on the top with architect Edward Pritchard’s initials etched on it.
